Periodontology

The Department of Periodontics at KMCT Dental College was established in 2007. It deals with the preventive & corrective measures for the management of gingival & periodontal diseases and placement of dental Implants. Advanced dental implant procedures like sinus lift & ridge augmentations, cosmetic periodontal procedures, regenerative and resective periodontal surgeries & comprehensive laser therapy are conducted on a regular basis.

The Department is well equipped with state-of-the-art dental diagnostic and surgical facilities like modern dental chairs, ultra-sonic scalers, laser unit , microsurgery loupes, iontophoresis, centrifuge and implant unit for superior patient care and training of under graduate and post graduate students.The Department also has a range of advanced regenerative materials like GTR membranes and bone grafts. Research areas include immunology, periodontal plastic surgery, periodontal regeneration, periodontal medicine and local drug delivery.
