The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at KMCT Dental College stands as a centre of excellence in surgical education, patient care, and research. Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and led by a dynamic team of experienced faculty, the department is committed to delivering world-class surgical training and clinical services.
Clinical Excellence
The department manages an average of 100 patients per day, offering comprehensive diagnostic and surgical care. Each month, we perform:
100+ minor surgical procedures, including impacted tooth removals, biopsies, and cyst enucleations
20+ major surgical procedures, encompassing a wide spectrum of craniomaxillofacial surgeries

Craniomaxillofacial trauma management

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) replacement

Virtual surgical planning and 3D printing are routinely used in orthognathic surgery, orbital reconstruction, tumor reconstruction, and correction of residual facial deformities.
A fully equipped surgical ICU with ventilator support and a 20-bed maxillofacial surgery ward ensure optimal post-operative care.
Postgraduate Program
The department offers 5 MDS (PG) seats and provides comprehensive exposure and training in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery. Our PGs receive hands-on experience in both basic and complex surgical procedures under close faculty mentorship.

With 12 dedicated faculty members, including 3 pursuing PhD programs, the department fosters a strong academic and research culture. We have established research collaborations through MoUs with prestigious institutions such as:
